
Why Nutrition Coaching
I am a self-taught, self-educated nutrition enthusiast and coach who has read, studied, and written hundreds of pages and digested hundreds of hours of content. About five years ago I decided I wanted to do something drastically different for my body and longevity. The most urgent and driving fundamental question I had was this:
“How was it possible for our ancient ancestors…and even more recent ones like our great grand parents…to go without food for a period of time and still function normally but I couldn’t last even for a few hours without it?”
I questioned “If we are the most advanced civilization in history with more access to information than ever, why was I such a slave to food?” It felt like I was more primitive than prehistoric man on this front and it just didn’t make sense. After a couple weeks of digging deep into a new world of cutting edge nutrition information (a place I’d never before explored) I found the answer in a health podcast and it honestly felt like discovering truth that has always existed. This was my first clue that I was discovering my first health treasure.
Up until this pivot point in my life I had gone along just like everybody else eating the SAD (Standard American Diet). Yes, I worked out and was very active but I never saw the physical changes I knew I deserved. When I discovered that the human body was designed so perfectly that it can regulate virtually everything if given the correct inputs (meaning what you put in your mouth) it was the proverbial light bulb moment. I didn't realize before that headaches, getting a cold or the flu, gas or bloating, skin problems, energy spikes and dips, brain fog, losing physical functional movement, that stubborn layer of fat that never seemed to budge, and even diabetes and heart disease ALL could be avoided or eliminated entirely by adopting a low glycemic, real, whole and natural diet. Four weeks after I decided to try this "radical" diet change I had shed the 20 pounds that had clung to my body since high school.
I have fought the idea of charging anyone to help them lose weight and feel better for a couple years now. But ultimately I want to reach more people and help transform lives.
